Things have been a little slower this Winter and I have not really been shooting nearly as much. I have been much more focused on graduating from Divinity School in the past 4 months or so than I have been on photography. Getting the opportunity to spend some time with this family as certainly a pleasure, especially once I learned about their story and journey over the past year. These are the type of families that we love to work with and are the reason we enjoy being family portrait photographers. We don’t have kids yet, but I cannot imagine the pain, frustration, and anxiety that has clouded their lives since learning that their had Spina Bifida.
A year later, other than the scar on his back, you wouldn’t know that there was ever any question about whether they were going to be a happy, smiling, joyous family, enjoying the thrills and frustrations of “normal” parenthood. I just wanted to take some time to share their story.
You can find a lot more eloquent reflection on the blog http://joeypowell.wordpress.com and see the beauty of their family below. Enjoy all the smiles from Maddy and Huck!
