The Cotton Room at Golden Belt is one of the premier wedding venues in Durham, North Carolina.
It’s filled with the history of the booming tobacco industry that built our city into the beautiful brick warehouse laden place that it remains. Over the past 10 years, Durham has seen a renaissance and these old abandoned warehouses have been transformed into restaurants, condos, art galleries, and beautiful wedding venues.
Historic Style, Original Flair
The Cotton Room has a rich open ceiling with all the beautiful duct work and wood rafters revealed with vast bay windows lining three sides of this original wood floor laden warehouse. It is truly a photographer’s dream, whether natural light is falling delightfully across the bride during a daytime wedding ceremony over brunch or if the sun is setting in the background as you begin to dance the night away, it is almost impossible to go wrong at The Cotton Room in Durham, NC.
The venue has been transformed by caterers Michelle and Dodd Aldred, who’s humble beginnings started as personal chefs for private in-home events. They have since grown into a full service catering operation, Triangle Catering, that encompasses a number of their own venues in Raleigh and Durham, corporate delivery, large parties, a decor service line called “Flair”, custom floral services and fully fledged wedding planners. If you can dream it up they will come along side you and make it become reality.
Experience
We are honored to be a photography company that has not only photographed commercial shoots for Triangle Catering at Duke Reunions weekend and weddings at The Cotton Room but we remain on a short list of photographers that they personally recommend to their wedding clients. We are pleased to be a part of their team and hope that you will consider The Cotton Room as your first venue of choice when getting married in this beautiful southern city.
